• My name is Ray Ataergin and I am a computer software developer.
  • When I was working in the IT industry my projects were always related to business applications running on mainframe/mini computers, they were challenging but not much fun. So as a hobby, I chose to have an Atari (first a 800XL, then a 130XE) and spent my spare times using, programming, modding and enjoying it. Nowdays I don't work for living so I have a lot more time to devote to my favorite vintage computer. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
  • I see the SIO2PC as one of the most useful upgrades to date for the 8 bit Ataris. I liked it so much that even though I am not an electronics expert I designed my own version of it and have been improving it since the inception.
  • Then I've discovered AspeQt, the Peripheral Emulator software designed and implemented by another Atari enthousiast. This was the first serious free alternative to APE, which was at the time the only fully functional SIO2PC software available for the PC Windows environment.
  • When Fatih (the original coder) took a long hiatus from coding for the Atari 8 bit, I decided to take over his duties, and has been maintaining and improving the software ever since. I would like to thank Fatih Aygun for creating this amazing product.
